Practical IoT: monitoring biotech lab conditions with sensors

April 05, 2017

Founded in the Netherlands, Iribov is an independent service laboratory focused on tissue culture services and analyses of plants with flow cytometry and molecular techniques. The laboratory uses tissue culture to produce half material for breeders, develops protocols for multiplication and produces certified starting material for large-scale production. With locations in the Netherlands, Ghana and Macedonia the lab employs a team of more than 350.

Challenge

Tracking and maintaining controlled laboratory conditions to provide the best quality services for customers.

Using sensors to monitor and optimize lab conditions

The company uses 30MHz temperature humidity sensors to monitor and maintain lab conditions. In the future, Iribov hopes to leverage sensors and the 30MHz platform for remote monitoring of laboratories in Ghana and Macedonia.
